The New Settlers!!!

I can't believe it's November already!  We are excited to be getting ready for our trip to Boise for Thanksgiving.  These are some pictures of their most recent school projects...

Raegan and Riley seem to prefer being on their tummies rather than their backs, now that they can roll over in a split second.  Riley can get up on all fours, and is rocking back-n-forth... crawling is just around the corner!  YAY!!!  Rob and I are working on baby-proofing our place this month.  Any tips or suggestions????

Are we BEE-autiful, or what?

Somebody's got to keep an eye on these BEEs...

"Yummy!", says Raegan...
"Peek-A-Boo", says Riley..

Rob's sister Teenah and brother-in-law Pat came to visit last weekend.  Their cousin Kealey got to spend some time with us.  We miss not being so close...

This is my best friend Krissy.  She came to visit us from Atlanta.  We went to middle school and high school together and haven't seen one another in 11 years!!!  It's crazy that even after all those years of being apart, seeing one another felt as though we never left Colorado.  Krissy, those high school stories are great!!  I didn't remember half of them.  :)  Thanks for coming to see us.

On Friday, Raegan & Riley got to spend the night with their godparents.  This is a photo of Kelly with Riley (Raegan was still sleeping)  Kelly and Patrick wanted to give us a night to go watch Fireproof.  This was a great, meaningful movie with a wonderful message.  We both enjoyed it so much, we're recommending it to everyone we talk to.  It's great!
Raegan and Riley are also enjoying time on their tummies.  They can roll from their tummies onto their backs.  They are both babbling and razzing... They sure have lots to say!!!  They are also beginning to grab at our faces when you speak to them, and really paying attention to how you move your lips.  When Raegan and Riley are sitting in front of one another, they are really enjoying each other's company.  Lots of eye contact, and babbling back and forth.  I think they're beginning to realize one another's existance.

Rob and I are doing well.  I finished my first 5 -week rotation at the hospital.  It was a great experience.  I am back at the University clinics for 4 weeks before I began my Operating Room rotation.  The residents all came over last Saturday.  We had a feast from around-the-world.  I am also working two Saturdays a month, with Dr. Allen at the Union Gospel Mission.  He's a great guy to work with.  (Todd, you can pay later me for saying that :) )  Rob's work is going rather slow.  They are now working 4-day weeks, and have laid-off several guys.  He's staying positive that things will eventual pick back up.

Rob and I are so surprised at how fast the girls are growing up.  They're constantly doing new things.  We both look forward to the end of each day, when we can spend time with the girls... and each other.

Family fun...

We went to the apple orchard and the pumpkin patch this last weekend.  We went on the hayride out to the orchard and got to handpick honey-crisps and some reagent apples.  Then we made fresh apple crisp on Sunday... YUM!

Our new business cards....

We have trained extremely hard these last few weeks to become great civil servants.  Please call us at your convenience if you are interested in any of our services.

We're so SCARY cute!

Hungry girls!

Raegan and Riley wrote out their shopping lists at school.  Seems like Raegan was a little more hungry than Riley...

Our second date since June!

Rob and I went on a dinner date last week.... our second outing since the babies were born!  We decided to go to the Oceanaire, the restaurant where Rob proposed 2 and a half years ago.  We celebrated our first anniversary, my birthday.... our babies!!!  When we showed up, they had given us the same table that we were at the night of the proposal, and even printed on our menus...  "Happy Anniversary Tori and Robby" at the top.  What a surprise... and then our waiter wanted to congratulate us by buying us desert... he ended up bringing out the same one we ordered previously at the proposal!  What a coincidence!

We are so grateful and thankful for all that's happened these last eight years.  It has been truly incredible.

Creepy Crawlers...

We make pretty darn cute spiders!

We love going to school...

For motor skills development, they traced their bodies and finger painted...

There are 12 babies in their room, with 3 teachers.  Here is a picture of their lead teacher Bianca driving the school bus...  Raegan and Riley are in the front of the bus (the first two).

Raegan and Riley are really enjoying going to school.

Here is Riley painting at school.  They have really developed their motor skills and strengthened their grips.

Hanging out with mom while we were sick...

Raegan and Riley are both getting over a crazy virus they got from school.  Both having temperatures that seem to come and go.  Rob and I are ill on top of it all.  I'm not as bad as Rob.  He can't seem to stop coughing.  Hopefully, we'll all be better soon.  Despite everything, the girls are in such great spirit.  They are still laughing and playing!  We even had a chance to catch part of Dr. Phil.  :)

We have been singing a lot lately, Vietnamese songs too.  What a joy they are!

This week, we had dinner with their godparents and went for a nice walk.  There aren't too many nice evenings left, so we're trying to get in as many walks as possible.

The Conrad reunion last weekend was great.  It was nice to see and visit with everyone again.  Nana came in on Tuesday to visit.  We had a good relaxing time together!

We took the girls to the Minnesota State Fair.  They wanted to try the deep fried snicker bar, but we didn't think it was a good idea. :)  The weather was beautiful.

IOWA won their first game this season!!!  The score was 46 to 3... against Maine.

Welcome to our blog...

I wanted to start a blog for a while, and just now getting around to it.  Raegan Mai and Riley Dao are now ten weeks old, (almost eleven weeks).  Our last check up at the doctors was last Tuesday, and Raegan weighed in at 10 lb 7 oz.  Riley is not far behind at 9 lb 2 oz.  They both began to smile at us this week, doing more of it in the mornings.  They've also found their hands and have been using it more and more everyday.  They haven't used their thumbs as their soothies, but Riley finds it comforting to put it by her mouth and lick it when she's upset.

Rob and I are doing great.  Rob's been busy with work and I haven't started my residency full time yet until Sept 2nd. (which is just around the corner).  My co-residents are all so nice.  They are a great group.  There's 5 of us, and they have all been so supportive during this time.

Their auntie Thuong was just here this last weekend from Chicago.  It was a great time.  We did a 5K run with the church... okay, Thuong did the run, the rest of us walked. :)  We managed to finish in under an hour, which was our initial goal.

Nana's coming in a week to visit. Can't wait.
